NEA BRIEFS

  In this blog I will be choosing my brief for the NEA and I will come up with my initial ideas for both my products that are required.

The brief I have decided to choose is brief 3 : magazines and online. This is because I already have a high amount of skills for photoshop and very brief introduction to Wix for the development of the website. Here below are two mind maps for my initial ideas for my magazine.

The magazines will have the branding shown across both of the front covers. This will mean that they both have the same layout ,colour scheme and typography across both front covers and context pages.

Statement of intent

  How do you intend to use the four areas of the media theoretical framework to communicate meaning and meet the requirements of your chosen brief? I will be making a current affairs magazine called “New society” by Dennis publishing. I chose the name New society as it relates to the genre of the magazine current affairs as it will discuss topics that are relevant to the new society. This means topics that people aged 16-25 see as relevant and an important current affair. For the first issue of my magazine I will be having a woman wearing a coronavirus mask. This will be a close up of her face to show how everyone can connect with her as the whole world is going through the same pandemic and feeling the fear of the virus. The second issue will be on a male who is suffering depression. This will also be a close up of half his face to show the raw emotion he is going through.
