Nea Planning task 1 - My audience

This information shows me that my picture needs to be the main focus of the front cover and needs to be large so that it can be the focus. This also helps me see who my audience might be. I could infer that they might be younger as more interested in the pictures rather than the information.

This has helped me decide what type of shot I will use. It made me be able to see
people do not want to see a long shot and it is quite close between mid shot and close up. Therefore I am going to be using a close up as it goes with my stories more as it brings the audience and the person on the front together. This shows how everyone is going through something and people can be connected in different ways.
The colour grey is mentioned a few times which means that my idea of a grey colour scheme for a current affairs magazine works. It also has helped me see that people do want to see some bright colours. This means I could include hints of some of these colours. For example blue and red.

From my research I would conclude that my audience is both male and females of ages 16-25 who want to know what is going on straight away. This explains why they want to see the picture first before information as the picture can show a story first before having to read it.

NEA BRIEFS

In this blog I will be choosing my brief for the NEA and I will come up with my initial ideas for both my products that are required. The brief I have decided to choose is brief 3 : magazines and online. This is because I already have a high amount of skills for photoshop and very brief introduction to Wix for the development of the website. Here below are two mind maps for my initial ideas for my magazine. ------------------------- Mind Map created by Sydney Palmer with GoConqr --------------------------- Mind Map created by Sydney Palmer with GoConqr The magazines will have the branding shown across both of the front covers. This will mean that they both have the same layout ,colour scheme and typography across both front covers and context pages.

NEA- planning task 2 - My mood board

The brief i have choose is brief 3 (magazines and online) . In this it states I need to create two current affairs magazine front cover ,  two context pages and one website homepage and link page. The minimum requirements for this is four original images , editing of the front cover and context pages, written text, barcode, date, mise en scene, representations and a place showing there is a website. For the website it is original audio, a minimum of two images and appropriate media language. The target audience is from 16-25 years old who are socially conscious. In this task I will be looking at different types of images, fonts and colours to use in my magazine front cover, context pages and website. I shall look at different connotations and how these will affect the way my target audience might view my product. This means by creating a mood board I will also be exploring creative ways of how to present my work. These mood boards have helped me in deciding what content i'm going t...

Genre Research

In this post I am going to be looking into genre research for my brief which is the magazines brief. My reason for this is so I make sure I use the proper code and conventions of the magazine as well as the genre in which it is covering. This genre is current affairs. The research produced from this will help me produce an effective final product of my own. I will be looking at three magazines that cover the area of current affairs. This research has helped me understand how I am going to layout my front page and context pages for my magazines. I will be using a close up for the girl with a mask on and the cover lines will go across the image. Then for the mental health front cover it will another close of of the boy with tears rolling down his face , the cover lines will also go across this image. For both context pages one half will be pictures whilst the other is the writing.
