Producers/Directors research

In this research i be looking at media practitioners linked to magazines, looking closely to the style and what conventions they use in the products they produce. I will look at their existing products so I can get ideas and inspiration from them for my own productions of the front cover and website. The research will help me be able to produce my magazine more effectively.

From this research I have learnt different ways to have my front cover by the ideas of different producers and the pictures they take (camera angles , camera shots). In my product I will probably use close up portraits like Mario Testino. However I will use colour in a grey and dull colour scheme.

Statement of intent

  How do you intend to use the four areas of the media theoretical framework to communicate meaning and meet the requirements of your chosen brief? I will be making a current affairs magazine called “New society” by Dennis publishing. I chose the name New society as it relates to the genre of the magazine current affairs as it will discuss topics that are relevant to the new society. This means topics that people aged 16-25 see as relevant and an important current affair. For the first issue of my magazine I will be having a woman wearing a coronavirus mask. This will be a close up of her face to show how everyone can connect with her as the whole world is going through the same pandemic and feeling the fear of the virus.
